This is one of those floors that I wasn't able to identify until I was getting into the superfine sanding, as from the get-go it looked and felt like Blackbutt.
Then a couple of boards seemed out of place in a Blackbutt floor, which triggered a memory from another job which was Southern Beech, featuring the exact same types of boards
This was a pretty rugged floor to start with, as it had copped a lot of water and hot sun over it's past fifteen years. Still, once it was all cleaned up and flat it turned out to be one of the most stunning floors I'd seen in some time
