Brushbox flooring is a tricky one.  

When I first started out sanding and polishing floors, we only got to work on a couple of Brushbox floors, and it would freak my boss out.  

The timber was very prone to showing up scratches and sanding lines from the sanding machines.  These scratches would stand out like a sore thumb once the finishing coats were applied.  All up it was a bit of a nightmare - for my boss.

However, now after having done several more over the sanding journey I can confidently say we have got it totally under control. Today we are able to sand and finish Brushbox as nicely as any other timber we find out there in the marketplace.

This Brushbox floor here in Narre Warren North is a brilliant example of what I'm talking about.  When we got there Lisa and I were astonished at what the previous sanding crew had done to these beautiful boards - as the first few pictures show.  But, with a little love, care and attention we managed to get it looking like the floor the owners originally had in mind. 

This floor is being protected with a matte polyurethane.

The following pictures show the same floor after our superfine sanding has been effected.  As you can see the timber is smooth and blemish free as you'd expect with such wonderful flooring.

Hard to believe this is the same floor as above.  It responded so well to the sanding process.

The finish choice here was to go with a matte finish which leaves a very flat finish, featuring no light bounce reflecting off the floor.  Which was exactly what was needed after having lived on it as rough as it was previously.

The floor is all dry and ready for the beautiful furnishings to come back in and turn it back into a home.
