Radiata Pine Floor

Handley Lo-Sheen Protection

Narre Warren   VIC

This is an outstanding study of just how nice a Radiata Pine can look - done right.

A late ' 80s home in Narre Warren shows how Radiata Pine was used as the flooring substrate ready for carpet and tiles. Once those floor coverings have been removed  we are left with some pretty good raw material -  a nice, tight Pine floor.

We superfine sanded the boards before finishing them off with a durable polyurethane coating. In this case, the final coat being the Lo-Sheen look.

Now, some know-it-all people will say that Radiata Pine is too soft to be used as a floor, and to a degree they are right as when you compare it to, say, Tasmanian Oak, or Spotted Gum, then yes, it is soft

However, what they fail to take into account is it's the finish that will give the floor it's life and durability. For that reason, I use and recommend only the very best of the polyurethane products be considered as the protection for your Radiata Pine floor

The 2pac polyurethanes and the heavy duty Lo-Sheen finishes I favour, will not only look sensational they will also hold up to the ravages of family living better than anything else on the market.

It's all about getting that finish right

Like any of the timbers we work with, the finer we sand, and the flatter the floor the longer it will last. If the floor hasn't been sanded as well as it could be it will quickly wear out, and take on a rather ugly, hard-to-clean appearance.

It's all about the sanding - get it right and you've got something special underfoot.

Radiata Pine and a Lo-Sheen finish coupled beautiful sanding and you've gotcha' self something special.
