TASMANIAN OAK in Frankston - Satin Finish

This particularly beautiful floor consists of old, second-hand Tasmanian Oak boards laid onto a concrete slab, in the downstairs section and onto particleboard upstairs.

The whole idea was to transform this late eighties home with a timber floor, but rather than use a floating floor, or brand new timber we felt that it would add to the authenticity of it by using the older materials. The end result gave the owners just what they wanted, a timber floor that looked like it had been there from when the place was first built.

Once laid, the boards were sanded to within an inch of their lives, before being coated firstly with a couple of coats of two pac polyurethane, with a final third coat being a satin finish.

All up a stunning floor, that would look good in pretty much any home.
